Titus Young Arrested for 3rd Time in Past Week

Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Titus Young was arrested for the third time in less than a week on Friday evening.

UPDATE: Saturday, June 8, at 5:35 p.m. ET by Ian Hanford

According to Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith, Young has been released from jail after bond was posted.

According to Josh Katzenstein of The Detroit News, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department revealed the 23-year-old was charged with burglary, assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest:

Katzenstein's report notes that Young broke into a home in San Clemente, Calif., fled on foot when officers arrived on the scene and attempted to fight before being captured.

This latest incident is yet another significant blemish on the former wideout’s growing criminal record since being released by the Lions in February.

Per ESPN, police detained Young twice on Sunday, May 5. The saga began in the wee hours of the morning, as Moreno Valley police officers pulled over the two-year NFL veteran after observing his black Mustang making an illegal left turn.

He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, cited and released shortly thereafter.

However, Young decided to try to retrieve his car from the impound lot and was spotted climbing over a fence at the tow yard. He wound up being booked at the same detention center.

Young’s prospects of getting a second chance in the NFL look slimmer than ever after this arrest, as it is becoming clear he hasn’t learned his lesson.

Will Titus Young get another chance in the NFL?

Ever since he attempted to "sabotage" Detroit’s chances to win by lining up in the wrong spot during Week 14 of the 2012 season, his decision-making has grown more and more questionable.

It’s another sad twist for a young player who had so much promise coming out of Boise State and was selected in the second-round back in the 2011 draft.

Hopefully there is a happy ending to this story, but with the way things have gone for Young over the past week or so, the odds of that look bleak.
