Two Auburn commitments walked into Walls of Salvation church in Prichard to support Justin Thornton, as the Vigor defensive end was set to announce his own decision on Sunday morning. About a half-hour later, three Auburn commitments walked out. With his Vigor teammate, Deshaun Davis, and St. Paul's linebacker Tre Williams looking on, Thornton placed an orange cap on his head and announced his intention to attend Auburn in 2014. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound Thornton, a four-star prospect who is ranked among the top 10 weakside defensive ends in the country by both Rivals.com and 247Sports, chose the Tigers over LSU and Texas A&M.
