Heat vs. Bulls Video: Nazr Mohammed Ejected After LeBron James Altercation
The bad blood continues to brew between the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat.
With the series tied at one and the Heat traveling to the United Center for Game 3 on Friday night, the officials had to feel pregame that the events of the first two contests would lead to a brawl the rest of the way.
The zebras got more than they bargained for at the start of the second quarter.
After Joakim Noah had already received a technical foul for pushing Chris Andersen at the end of the first quarter, things got heated again. Nazr Mohammed tracked down LeBron James on the left sideline to stop a Heat fast break, and what played out after that led to the backup center's ejection.
James knocked Mohammed to the deck, and as head official Joey Crawford stamped the "T" on the King, Mohammed responded with a schoolyard shove that in turn sent James to the court and brought emotion to a fever pitch in the Windy City.
Andersen has been involved in several different incidents so far in this series, too, including shoving Marco Belinelli in Game 2 and looking to start a fight at any digression from the normal rate of play. It's the Bulls, though, who now have two ejections in the series, and can't seem to keep their cool after the first "punch" has been thrown.
Neither team is giving up any ground in this series, and Chicago is clearly embracing its underdog role against the anointed Heat. However, the Bulls will also be without a key bench player in the second half, and Mohammed's shove wasn't a "basketball play" at all.
Expect more fireworks when these two teams clash over the next week.
