Tiger Woods entered the third round a stroke behind leader Sergio Garcia. He ended the round two strokes behind leader David Lingmerth.
After a series of loose tee shots to open the round, Tiger righted the ship before a weather delay stopped play for nearly two hours. The horn sounded during the golfer's seventh hole.
Really, the gray skies complemented Woods round, which was rather blah.
Woods missed a four-foot par putt at the third hole and burnt the edges on several birdie puts during a string of pars, which began at the fourth hole and extended through his final hole before the stoppage of play, the 14th.
The world No. 1 was above-average during his round Saturday. Most importanly, though, he is well positioned heading into Sunday, where he'll continue the quest for his second career win at the Players Championship.
