The skinny: The undermanned Canadiens were no match for goaltender Craig Anderson and the Ottawa Senators had the upper hand as they posted a 6-1 victory Thursday night at the Bell Centre. With the win, the Senators won the best-of-seven Eastern Conference quarter-final series in five games. The Canadiens outshot the Senators 34-29 and also hit a variety of posts and crossbars but only put one shot behind Anderson, who was the stingiest goaltender in the regular season. The Canadiens were playing without Alexei Emelin, Lars Eller, Brian Gionta, Ryan White, Brandon Prust and starting goaltender Carey Price.
