Kenneth Tate Reports to Eagles Rookie Minicamp on Tryout
Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Once projected as a second- or third-round draft pick by NFL scouts, former Maryland linebacker and safety Kenneth Tate will try out with the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend at their rookie minicamp, according to a press release on the team Web site. Tate is listed as one of three safeties on the announcement, his original college position before switching to linebacker. Tate was a consensus first-team all-ACC defensive back in 2010, but has been hampered by knee injuries ever since, playing in just nine games last season. Per the Baltimore Sun, Tate had a cartilage transplant two years ago.
