What It Takes to Be a Miami Heat Dancer
The NBA playoffs are in full swing, and while we credit the players for their hard work, determination and focus throughout the postseason, there is a lot more going on within the organizations that can be overlooked.
The Miami Heat have one of the most popular dance teams in the country. Every year, thousands of girls try out for an opportunity to perform in front of thousands in the American Airlines Arena, yet only 23 make the squad.
We got to catch up with one of the dancers, Tamara Roy, to talk about her role with the team and what it takes to be a Miami Heat Dancer. Tamara tried out for the squad five years in a row before finally making it last year.
Her story is one of true determination, proving that dreams can come true. Between Heat home games, teaching Zumba at Iron Flower Fitness in Miami and making appearances at team events/charities, Tamara moves non-stop throughout the season.
Watch the video above to see how Tamara handles this busy lifestyle, and stay tuned to Bleacher Report for more Repeat Ride.
