David Moyes is expected to be named Manchester United's new manager on Thursday or Friday after confirming his intention to leave his current club at the end of the season (via BBC Sport).
Sir Alex Ferguson, 71, announced on Wednesday that he will retire as United's manager at the end of the season. Moyes, 50, has managed Everton since 2002.
Wigan's Roberto Martinez and Swansea's Michael Laudrup are candidates to replace Moyes at Everton, according to the report.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney
Daily Mail sources report that Manchester United are "close to" bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club and are "confident" of the deal. The report also indicates that United forward Wayne Rooney asked for a transfer last month.
Ronaldo, 28, played for United from 2003 to 2009. He was sold to Real Madrid for a world-record £80 million fee in 2009.
According to the Manchester Evening News, a potential cash-plus-player deal to bring Ronaldo back to United could depend on Javier Hernandez. Real reportedly prefer Hernandez, a 24-year-old Mexico international forward, to Nani.
Rooney, 27, joined United in 2004 from Everton, where he was managed by David Moyes. Outgoing manager Sir Alex Ferguson told Rooney last month that Rooney would not be sold, according to the Mail.
Chelsea are reportedly interested in Rooney for £25 million.
Barcelona have not approached Liverpool about goalkeeper Pepe Reina, according to Liverpool (via Liverpool Echo).
According to previous reports from Spain, Barcelona are interested in a €10 million deal for Reina, 30, who is under contract at Liverpool until 2016.
Reina joined Liverpool from Villarreal in 2006. He started his career with Barca.
Diego Costa says he wants to remain with Atletico Madrid (via ESPN FC).
Costa, a 24-year-old Brazil international attacking midfielder, has been linked with a €25 million move to the Premier League.
