When Ricky Romero was called back to the big leagues five days ago to replace the injured Josh Johnson, the Blue Jays said he was ready. The 28-year-old left-hander had just a single minor-league start with which to test his new delivery mechanics, but GM Alex Anthopoulos, manager John Gibbons and minor-league pitching instructor Dane Johnson said he was prepared to take on big-league hitters.
