Former Alabama TE Michael Williams Signs Contract with Detroit Lions

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- The last of Alabama's nine players selected in last month's NFL Draft became the first to officially sign a contract. Former tight end Michael Williams, who was selected with the 211th overall pick in the seventh round by the Detroit Lions, agreed to a $2.22 million, four-year rookie contract, according to the Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson. The Reform, Ala., native also received a $65,148 signing bonus.
