Ross Pearson Runs Down His Top Five MMA Fighters from the U.K.
Ross Pearson has been competing as a professional mixed martial artist since 2004. During that time, he has amassed a record of 15-6, with his most recent victory being a second round TKO win over Ryan Couture at UFC on Fuel TV 9’s co-main event.
Pearson, a native of Sunderland, England, fought exclusively in the UK during the early portion of his career, running up a record of 8-3 before joining the season nine cast of The Ultimate Fighter.
The man known as “The Real Deal” would walk away from his time in the TUF house as the winner of that season, besting Andre Winner via unanimous decision. Since then, Pearson has competed exclusively for the UFC, going 7-3 with the promotion.
Pearson may no longer train in the UK, he currently puts most of his time in with the team at Alliance MMA in San Diego, Calif., but that doesn’t mean he has forgotten about his homeland.
Pearson recently sat down with Rick J. Lee and gave a rundown of his top five MMA fighters from the UK.
The 28-year-old lightweight didn’t go to far out of the box in four of his five picks, placing Paul Daley, Michael Bisping, Dan Hardy and Brad Pickett in his top four. However, Pearson’s pick at number five may have some of the more UFC-centric fans typing Pearson’s selection into Google for a bit more information.
Check out the video to find out who comes in at number five and also hear Pearson explain the reasoning behind each of his picks.
