Memphis looked stronger, played harder, and were overall just better then UCLA in their Final Four match in San Antonio as Memphis won 78-63.
Derrick Rose showed the nation why he was one of the best freshman this year. Rose out muscled UCLA's smaller guard combination of Darren Collison who fouled out while Russell Westbrook had four fouls. Both guards couldn't handle Rose as he slashed through the entire Bruin defense at will ending with 25 points.
Not to be outdone by Rose, Memphis' other guard Chris Douglas-Roberts scored every way conceivable from inside, outside, and did what most critics said Memphis couldn't do shoot 9 of 11 from the stripe. Douglas-Roberts made his first four shots in a row in the first 5 minutes of the game, "CDR" never took his foot off the gas finishing with a game high 28 points.

UCLA seemed to forget that they had the Pac-10 Player of the Year on their squad, Kevin Love. Memphis' guards kept the pressure up on UCLA's ball handlers keeping them from getting the ball into Love's hands. The Bruin's freshman only scored 12 points as Memphis' big men clamped down in the paint keeping Love from getting into any rhythm.
The Bruins' offense looked sloppy making unforced turnovers multiple times and were unable to play Memphis' uptempo game. While Memphis showed that they are primed for a quality show down with the winner of the UNC/Kansas game. Derrick Rose showed that he was ready to start for whatever lucky NBA team would be drafting him for next season.
