Aston Villa vs. Chelsea: Premier League Live Score, Highlights, Recap
Villa Park—Birmingham, England
Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea
Chelsea picked up a vital, Champions League-guaranteeing win at Villa Park after coming from behind to win 2-1.
Villa took the lead through a wonder Christian Benteke goal, then Ramires was sent off for a second bookable offense in first half stoppage time.
Villa looked at ease against 10 men, but when the goalscorer Benteke was sent off, things went spiraling out of control: Frank Lampard equaled Bobby Tamlin's record of 202 Blues goals with a left-footed strike, then bundled home the winner to become the holder himself.
Worries abound for Chelsea, though, as John Terry was stretched off and Eden Hazard sustained a hamstring injury, all before Cesar Azpilicueta exited early with a knock.
Congratulations to Frank Lampard, commiserations to Villa, who deserved a point from this game.
