The Seahawks have announced the signing of former Panthers CB, and ex Seahawk Ken Lucas.

Terms of the deal have not been announced, it is expected to be a three-year deal.

Lucas left the Seahawks in 2004 right before the Superbowl Season for a lucrative six year $36 million dollar deal with the Carolina Panthers.

Lucas will be the No. 2 CB alongside Pro Bowl CB Marcus Trufant, both of whom have played together a good amount.

The move allows the Seahawks to shift CB’s Josh Wilson to No. 3 and Kelly Jennings to No. 4 rounding out a new deepened pool of Seattle CB’s.

The Seahawks sorely lacked in pass defense in 2008, finishing last, compared to 2007 when the same unit gave up the fewest passing TD’s with 15.

This move helps solidify the secondary, adding LB Aaron Curry, and the now expected re-signing of LB Leroy Hill, makes their defense solid across the board.

The Seahawks also agreed to terms with a former Falcon FB Justin Griffith. Griffith played for Mora when he was in Atlanta and was a big part of that four-headed monster that was the Atlanta rushing attack

His deal is a one-year contract

He gives them flexibility in the backfield; they now have a great blend of size, speed, and power.

Great moves Seattle go get Leroy Hill and lets get back to the playoffs!
