Former WWE champion The Miz has been absent from WWE television following his loss to Wade Barrett the night after WrestleMania XXIX.

Miz has taken time off from the squared circle to film a straight-to-TV film called Christmas Bounty, but we can expect to see The Awesome One soon, as F4WOnline.com (h/t wrestlinginc.com) reported: "The Miz didn't return on Monday's Raw because he was finishing filming on The Christmas Bounty. He is now being advertised to return at next week's Raw from Tulsa, Oklahoma."

The WWE needs as much star power as it can possibly get due to the absence of CM Punk, so Miz's return comes at a good time.

He won the Intercontinental championship in WrestleMania XXIX's pre-show event but lost it the night after, so there's a good chance we'll see his feud with Wade Barrett reignite on next week's Raw. Barrett could use the competition as he's been withering away not doing much since his current rival took time off to film.

But what will Miz do after that? John Cena's injury scare put a shining spotlight on the fact that WWE desperately needs to thicken its main event roster.

The Miz was once billed as "the most must-see WWE champion of all time," though he slowly fell down the card after he lost the title to Cena back in April 2011.

Is it time for The Miz to once again claim a main-event spot in a world championship feud, or is he better suited to the midcard? Let us know in the comments section below.
