“I sat down with my family and talked pros and cons of all the schools and we decided that UCLA is the best option for me to continue my educational and athletic career,” Roberts said.
Roberts visited UCLA on July 11 and was offered that day after spending time with the coaching staff. He is the fifth commitment of the 2014 recruiting class and the fourth wide receiver. Roberts also had offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, Miami and Nebraska, among others.

It took 3-star wide receiver Jordan Lasley one day to commit to UCLA, according to 247Sports. Lasley was an emerging name on the West Coast and was beginning to receive offers left and right. Other offers that were on the table include Boise State, Nevada and Utah, among others.
This is the Bruins' fifth commitment of the 2014 class and the third wide receiver.

"Best visit I've ever taken," Knox told Rivals. "Great coaching staff. Great environment. I'm still in awe. All I can say is, 'Wow.'"
Knox visited with the Bruins earlier this week and was impressed.
"As of now," the 6'4", 287-pound guard said, "UCLA is my leader."
The 4-star recruit has also visited with Miami and TCU after decommitting from Texas in April

According to Scout, defensive tackle Eddie Vanderdoes has signed with UCLA. A top 2013 recruit, Vanderdoes originally committed to Notre Dame, but the Irish recently lifted the recruiting ban and allowed the 5-star prospect to take his talents elsewhere:
I am honored and humbled that the University of Notre Dame thought enough of me as a person and a football player to offer me a scholarship. They have been very gracious to recognize not only how difficult a decision this was, but also how important it was for me to be near family at this time. I take my commitments seriously, but as circumstances changed, the most important commitment is the one made to family.
If Notre Dame releases him from his letter of intent, Vanderdoes will be eligible to play this season. If not, he will be forced to sit out the entire upcoming season and will be eligible to play in 2014. Either way, this is absolutely huge news for the Bruins.

UCLA has a solid shot at landing 4-star quarterback Kyle Allen after all. Erik McKinney of ESPN has reported that Allen has released a top five, which includes Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and UCLA (subscription required):
UCLA is another [Notre Dame]-type school as in education and football. Another school on the rise. Amazing people. Coaches are great. Coach [Jim] Mora is a great dude, very family oriented. The Mazzones are very smart guys. Amazing campus too.
Allen made an unofficial visit to check out the Bruins on April 27. According to the report, he has a visit scheduled to visit Ohio State on June 21 and could end up making a decision within a month or so.

“I like the coaching staff a lot. The program is great and I really want to visit them soon. They are a program on the rise and should be among the best on the west coast.”
Eluemunor is scheduled to visit Arkansas, Alabama and Ohio State later this year and hopes to enroll at his school of choice in January. According to 247Sports, Eluemunor is the top JUCO offensive tackle of the 2014 recruiting class.

Just when you thought Malik Dorton was safe, other schools have jumped into the mix. The 4-star defensive lineman has been high on UCLA, but an offer from USC has shaken things up a bit, according to Scott Schrader of 247Sports (subscription required):
The thing about UCLA is everyone knew it was a school I'm highly considering and thought I was committed, when I really wasn't. I'm not committed to any school right now, but UCLA is a school that is high up there right now.
Dorton plans to check out USC and eventually take an unofficial visit. According to the report, he is also hoping to receive an offer from Oregon.

My whole family already knew that an offer was likely to happen and when it did that was going to be game over. UCLA has the best coaching staff in the country in my opinion at least. I've known coach (Eric) Yarber since I was in fifth grade. I've also known Brett Hundley for a long time too. This was just an easy choice for me.
Sykes has great size at 6'2", but his hands are what stick out the most. Not very fast or explosive, he is a sure-handed wideout who has a chance to become a solid player at the next level.

Jonathan Lockett recently told Adam Gorney of Rivals (subscription required) the top four schools he is most interested in. They include Notre Dame, UCLA, Oregon and Washington. Already visiting the Bruins on April 27, he now hopes to visit Washington and Oregon in the near future.
"They're still the same," Lockett said. "The four are still early favorites. That has not changed at all."

It appeared that outside linebacker Derik Calhoun was leaning in the direction of the Bruins, but he is now torn between both UCLA and USC. According to Edward Lewis of Rivals (subscription required), the 4-star recruit has already visited UCLA and plans on checking out both schools officially before making a decision.
"As of right now, it's USC and UCLA," Calhoun said. "It's tough. That's a tough choice."

"UCLA wants to make me a part of their team and a big player there," Freeman said. "They like the fact that I have a good attitude."
Freeman has close to 20 offers, but he told Rivals that UCLA, Oregon and Florida are the three front-runners at this point. He expects to trim his list down soon and take the recruiting process from there.
Miami Northwestern Michael Smith DE/LB was also offered by UCLA #Burins— O/C&WR GURU G.U.M.P (@COACH_T_Y) May 8, 2013
Robinson is currently committed to Florida State but has been giving Miami a lot of attention. Smith is slowly racking up the offers and has also paid a few visits to Miami.
Al Harris Jr. recently received an offer from the Bruins, according to his 247Sports timeline. If the name sounds familiar, it is because Harris is the son of a former two-time Pro Bowl cornerback Al Harris, who spent his glory days with the Green Bay Packers.
Harris plays his high school ball at St. Thomas Aquinas, which has a lengthy history of producing elite talent. So while he is only considered a 3-star player, he has the potential to become a steal for a lucky program.
It seems to be a battle between USC and UCLA for wide receiver John Smith, who could also play defense. Smith is from the California area (Long Beach) and has checked out USC during its pro day and UCLA during the spring game.
Lindsey Thiry of Scout recently caught up with the 5-star recruit, and he provided six schools that are standing out.
UCLA and Washington are definitely my top two right now. UCLA is the local school, close to home and they really need receivers. They have an elite quarterback in Brett Hundley there so I know I’ll have a great quarterback to work with for a couple of years.
Brown is a 4-star wide receiver with sure hands and decent size at 6'1". He is from the California area, which seems to give the Bruins a slight advantage early on in the process. However, Brown also told Biggins that he is waiting on an offer from USC, which is close to a done deal.
There may not be a bigger recruit UCLA is chasing right now than 4-star quarterback Kyle Allen. A pocket-passer with great accuracy and tremendous delivery, Allen has UCLA high on his list as well. Here's what he told Justin Hopkins of 247Sports after checking out the school for a second time during the spring game (subscription required):
I had a really good time again at the game and on campus. I had a good time talking to the coaches and sitting in on the quarterback meeting and watching the Spring game. I also spent quite a bit of time with coach (Jim) Mora too which was nice to talk to him.
Allen believes he will fit well into the Bruins offense and says the school is being highly considered. According to the report, Allen will soon take a trip to Chicago for the Elite 11 and then visit Wisconsin.
