It was never going to be a classic, and so it proved. With much attention on matters at the DW Stadium, Manchester City calmly played out a 1-0 home win over West Brom.

FULL-TIME: Manchester City 1-0 West Bromwich Albion (Dzeko 34')
90+3' Long ball play from West Brom now, who still have much of the possession. The ball will just not run in their favour.
90+2' The excellent Carlos Tevez leaves the pitch as young midfielder Abdul Razak is given a first-team appearance.
90+1' A Shane Long flick on appears to set up a chance for Romelu Lukaku. The big centre-forward had strayed offside.
90' We are entering three minutes of added time.
88' Big chance for West Brom, as Odemwingie is fouled bu Maicon on the left of the area. The delivery into the box, though, is terrible.
87' Maicon involved on the right flank once more, cutting the ball back for Gareth Barry who sidefoots a shot straight at goalkeeper Myhill.
86' At the other end, it is Peter Odemwingie who tries to play hero when other options were available. His shot, also, never threatens.
85' WASTE! Maicon has a golden opportunity to cross to a number of players in the middle, but attempts to blast a shot home with the outside of his boot. Predictably, it goes nowhere near goal.
84' A Kolarov cross from the left induces some panic in the West Brom defence, substitute Graeme Dorrans mops up for his side, though.
82' At the other end, Edin Dzeko swings a left boot at a cross from Maicon but sees his shot charged down.
81' Shane Long is on the pitch now and instantly goes close, showing pace and strength to breeze past Lescott and fire into the side netting.
79' WBA pushing and pushing now, but CIty's defence holds firm. A Tamas cross is spilled by Hart, but Lescott lashes the ball to safety.
Tevez is clocking up the miles today. Up and down; right to left. He's been everywhere.— Jerrad Peters (@jerradpeters) May 7, 2013
76' Peter Odemwingie and Maicon enter the fray, replacing Rosenberg and Jack Rodwell for their respective sides.
75' Back in Manchester once more, Rosenberg forces a smart but comfortable save from Hart.

73' Gareth Barry replaces Nasri for Manchester City
A worried Norwich fan has been impressed by Carlos Tevez this evening. He has been excellent.
71' Wonderful technique from James Milner on the City right to pull a ball out of the aim and cut inside Olsson. His shot, though, is tame and straight at Myhill.
69' The unlikely figure of Mulumbu overlaps on the right for West Brom, causing panic with a low cross into the centre of the box. The resulting corner, though, is cleared.
67' Cheers from the crowd as Tamas makes a mess of controlling a long ball. It's all WBA possession at the moment, though.
65' Samir Nasri and Claudio Yacob go head-to-head in midfield, as the Frenchman takes exception to some niggly fouls. A yellow card apiece is the result.
63' CHANCES! How has Jack Rodwell not scored today? First he is denied when attempting to volley home a super Nasri cross from just three or four yards out, before his attempt on the rebound is well parried by Myhill.
