The 2013 NBA playoffs returned to Texas on Monday night, as the San Antonio Spurs hosted the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of their first-round series.
As fate would have it, this game went into overtime as the San Antonio Spurs went on an 18-2 run to close out the fourth quarter and tie it at 106-106. The scoring span was capped off by a game-tying three-pointer by Danny Green with 20 seconds remaining.
From there, we went to overtime. And then a second overtime.
This is postseason basketball.
Stephen Curry proved that his first-round heroics were legitimate, finishing with 44 points and 11 assists in 58 minutes of action. Tony Parker countered with 28 points, eight assists and eight rebounds, leading a deep attack that saw six Spurs score in double figures.
The question is, were the upstart Warriors able to pull off the miraculous double-overtime upset? Or did the Spurs complete their sensational comeback with a win in extra time?
