This is the thrid and last part of my series on the state of African-American Champions as in the first part I talked about how many champions we have had in wrestling, part two was the greatest champions, the third part will be on the future and who could possible be the next to win a championship in the WWE.
I have selected a selected few that have the chance if they get that chance you will see some people from different company and you will see some that you see daily.
I hope you enjoy the third part and final of my series enjoy.
Montel Vontavious Porter has held United States and WWE Tag Team gold and could be on the rise of one day being a World Champion but the question is how long until he is a World Champion.
He is now on Raw and will be over looked by Orton, Triple H, HBK, Cena, and Show.
He is a mid-card wrestler but he has the mic, ring, and personailty skills to be a World Champion.
I do see him as a World Champion and I see it by the year 2010 because he could prove to Vince that he can carry the load that is the WWE but as of right now he can only get better from here.
The Jamican Sensation Kofi Kingston is on the right track but I have to see a mean streak to be convinced that he can be a World Champion.
Kofi has good ability in the ring and on the mic he ain't bad but could work on it but he is loved by the fans.
I'm not saying turn him heel to be a champiion but give him the anger and that pose at the same time were we can see how good he really is.
I see Kofi as a World Champion as long as he gets the push maybe as far as three years down the road maybe more but Kofi has to prove that he wants it.
The girl is more than just eye candy, the wedding planner, or someone that dances. She needs to get in the ring and face off against someone anyone let her build the skill to be a Women's Champion and be up there with Jacqueline and Jazz.
I can see here being a project for the WWE, she can be molded into anything they want I would love to see a happier side with some type of bad dark backgorund and that would build the charcater of Fox and could make her a champion maybe a year or two from her prime we ever here prime is going to be.
Cryme Tyme: Shad Gaspard and JTG.
These two could have stole there way to those Tag Team Championship but never got the chance.
JTG I'm just not even sold on him winning the US or IC Championship more less the World Championship. Unless his whole gimmick is changed and is has more edge to himself then I can't see him as a single champion at all.
Shad on the other hand could be like Ahmed Johnson one day an IC Champion and be in a few main events but don't see a World Championship run unless this gimmick is changed for him also.
Shad has great tools to be a top dawg in the WWE on day but the heat that he has with the WWE is not a good sign.
The 2006 WWE Diva Search winner has a nice look to her and that she is british is a good thing but to me she reminds me of The Rock but in the women's division. Your thinking is he crazy—The Rock? Well listen.
The Rock started off slow in a way had the big step winning at Survivor Series like Layla winning the Diva contest.
Rock had a slow start after that like Layla is having right now but when The Rocjk broke out he broke out and I think Layla will do the same thing and will be The Rock version but not as big but as dominate in the women's division in the years to come.
Layla will dominate the womens division one day trust me on that she needs a push first.
Ron Killings now known as R-Truth has held the NWA World Championship along with the hardcore Championship but I think he could make a great WWE Championship or World Championship and he doesn't have to change anything about him he can work his gimmick in and make it better and evolve were he is at right now.
Ron can be a World Champion with in about four years-six years max and he can carry the load for a few months maybe longer but I would love to see him as a World or WWE Champion.
The Golden Standard to me will have to wait longer for a Championship run but mark my words he will be a World Champion before his career is up.
Shelton had a great push when he faced off against Triple H, HBK, and Jericho showing that he can play with the big boys.
Let's see Edge and Shelton go for it I would love to see that match or Punk and Shelton for the World Championship if Punk were to win the Championship.
Shelton is the best pure athlete in the WWE right now hands down. His mic skills are a different story but he can work on that with the future in sight.
Shelton will be a World Champion. Period.
This is a big boy. He can be molded into the next Goldberg in my mind. We haven't heard him talk much and can improve on how good his skills are.
A run at the ECW Championship would be nice and it could happen some were down the road for this man Jackson.
As for a World Championship if he is used and pushed right I think he will be the next Batista but way better.
There is one person that can be the next Booker T in the sense that he can be a great World Champion and yea he is in TNA but this guy has all the talent in the world and he is great on the mic, in the ring, and with the fans.
That's all he needs to be great and he will be great ten years down the road this mans name will be talked about as being a World Champion.
Jay Lethal is the future of TNA and most likely the future of the business in the African-American race if I have to be specfic but this kid has good head on his shoulders.
The future in the African-American race as being World Champion has a light at the end of the tunnel and I hope and prey some of the people on this slideshow are World Champions because a selected few shouls be great champions but thats not in my hands thats in the wreslting business hands.
I hope you have enjoyed my three part series on the state of African-American Champions in wrestling.
My next series will be: It's place in history and look out for my next What If? edition thanks for reading.
