Manchester United transfer rumors are always rampant, as new names are constantly being linked to the team. Here are the latest rumors swirling around the Red Devils.

Angel Di Maria

According to Jamie Sanderson of the Metro, Angel Di Maria has been told he can leave Real Madrid this summer.

Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be interested in the Argentine, and United may have a spot for Di Maria on the team with the departure of Nani seeming imminent. Spanish newspaper Marca (via Sanderson) has stated that Madrid has told Ferguson that he can have Di Maria for £15 million.

However, Paris Saint-Germain are also believed to be interested in the player as well.

Di Maria is obviously not United's preferred Madrid player, but should he really be for sale, he would be a step up from Nani.

While Nani is a good player, he is selfish at times and can be wasteful in possession. Di Maria distributes the ball well and manages to get on the scoresheet on occasion.

If given the opportunity, surely United will go after the Argentine.

Claudio Marchisio

Charles Perrin of The Express is reporting that the Red Devils are preparing a £25 million bid for Juventus' Claudio Marchisio.

The midfielder is a key member of Juventus, but Antonio Conte has many options for his team, which could potentially push Marchisio to the side.

Another reason the Italian may be pushed aside is the possible arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Juve is supposedly interested in bringing the Swedish footballer back to La Vecchia Signora, according to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Marca).

Although the two players do not play the same position, former Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro told Italian football website Sportmediaset (via Perrin) that if Ibrahimovic comes then someone must go. He believes that this will make Marchisio the odd man out.

With the eventual retirement of Paul Scholes approaching, Marchisio will be the perfect replacement. The 27-year-old is able to switch from a defensive role to an attacking one easily.

United will most likely be keeping a close eye on him in the upcoming transfer window.

Ilkay Gundogan

Another player who United have been linked to is Borussia Dortmund's Ilkay Gundogan, reports Perrin. Gundogan is a similar player to Marchisio and will be brought in to be the future replacement of Scholes as well.

However, it will be difficult to pry Gundogan away from Dortmund. The team is desperately trying to hold on to its star players as it fights off growing European interest.

Perrin states that Gundogan would cost United around £17 million.

If the choice comes down to either Marchisio or Gundogan, United will be better off with the German. Gundogan is five years younger but is just as good as Marchisio.

Gundogan is the engine of the young Dortmund team. He is the main creator of chances for Marco Reus, Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski. He is not the quickest player on the pitch, but he is one of the main reasons that Dortmund has been having the success it has. He is effective.

Gundogan is also keen to join a team in England or Spain. According to Perrin, he recently told German newspaper Sport Bild that it was a childhood dream to one day play in either country.

Surely Manchester United would love to make Gundogan's dream come true. He would be a welcomed addition to the team.
