Batista was back in the WWE rumor mill as he addressed longstanding rumors of his imminent return. Batista left a glimmer of hope for his fans via Twitter with the following Tweet:
Batista was last seen in 2010, doing the best work of his career as a heel. He has since leaned down to foray in to MMA, and is now preparing to shoot the blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy movie, facilitating a move back up to 290 lbs.
Given the WWE fan base and its eternal love for nostalgia, a handful of names could be back by popular demand within the near to distant future.
MVP has been asked when he will return to the WWE on Twitter every day since he has left, so he has to pick his spots when beating this dead horse.
One of these spots came this past week, when MVP fired off this May 2 Tweet:
I have said before & maintain that I remain on good terms with WWE & a return at some point is always a possibility. Thank you for caring!— MVP (@The305MVP) May 2, 2013
The more MVP addresses this speculation, the better the outlook for a possible return.
The Rock won't be coming back to the WWE anytime soon after just having left, but return (and retirement) rumors are already making their rounds.
Vince McMahon was asked about The Rock possibly retiring during a recent stockholder's meeting. According to The Wrestling Observer, Vince blew off this notion and expects The Rock to face Brock Lesnar come WrestleMania XXX.
WWE reportedly already has plans for The Rock to appear at its Hell in a Cell pay-per-view in October, which will be held in Rock's hometown of Miami, FL.
The Undertaker was written out of the WWE storylines after a rare shot of TV appearances. Taker was mugged by The Shield and will likely be seldom seen or heard from until WrestleMania.
Given how strong The Shield has looked, they have become the darkhorses as possible opponents for The Undertaker. In all likelihood, Taker may come back before WrestleMania to get revenge before WWE sets up a program with a higher-profile opponent. Possibly his last.
It's safe to say that Batista will return to the WWE sooner or later. The popular demand will only continue to grow. Plus, they all come back. Well, almost all of them.
The WWE's part-time schedule would be perfect for Batista and his injury-prone frame. His significant role in a blockbuster movie will progress his Hollywood career. A WWE return could be another mutually beneficial relationship, in terms of exposure, similar to that of The Rock's.
