WWE Extreme Rules 2013: 5 Additional Matches We Need Added to Card ASAP

WWE Extreme Rules is only two weeks away, yet there are only three matches having been announced at this time. The two World title matches are set, along with the third (yikes!) Triple H and Brock Lesnar match.
What other matches might we see at this month’s pay-per-view?
A number of titles have still not been scheduled to be defended. Perhaps the U.S. or Intercontinental title match will be on the pre-show.
Team Hell No has had their issues with The Shield, while AJ Lee is currently the No. 1 contender for the Divas title.
Here are five matches that need to be added to the Extreme Rules 2013 card as soon as possible.
United States Championship: Big E Langston vs. Kofi Kingston

When Kofi Kingston defeated Antonio Cesaro for the United States title, it seemed to signal that another young heel would be next in line.
At first, Fandango looked to be that heel Superstar next in line for the United States title. However, Fandango’s 15 minutes of fame may be over. Dolph Ziggler is now World Heavyweight Champion and AJ Lee may be the next Divas Champion.
Therefore, it would only make sense for Big E Langston to capture a midcard title.
The past two times Kingston and Ziggler squared off, the World Heavyweight Champion was victorious, but it was Langston delivering a post-match attack on Kingston. This could have easily been a foreshadowing of a match between Langston and Kingston at Extreme Rules.
Divas Championship: Kaitlyn vs. AJ Lee

Speaking of AJ Lee becoming the next Divas Champion, it may very well happen at Extreme Rules this year.
AJ and Kaitlyn have a great history together that could have been a WrestleMania 29 match. Kaitlyn won the Divas title in her home state of Texas. If AJ had won the title at WrestleMania, she too would have won the title in her home state of New Jersey.
Regardless, WWE may have corrected their mistakes recently by having AJ win a Divas’ Battle Royale to become the No. 1 contender for the Divas title.
After Extreme Rules, all members of Team Ziggler could be going home with championship gold.
Tag Team Championship: Team Hell No vs. the Shield

Team Hell No has been almost as unstoppable as The Shield since winning the WWE tag team titles.
Kane and Daniel Bryan’s opponents don’t compare to those of The Shield, but many WWE fans expect some combination of Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns to capture the tag titles at Extreme Rules.
This match has not been made official yet, but Team Hell No has consistently been running in when The Shield is ready to attack.
Yesterday, I wrote an article on one possible scenario that could come out of this match. While that scenario doesn’t seem the most likely, it would be interesting.
Regardless, this is a match that needs to happen at Extreme Rules so The Shield can begin capturing titles and the end of Team Hell No finally comes.
Randy Orton and Sheamus vs. Big Show and Mark Henry

Although three out of four of the Superstars in this proposed match are beyond stale, it is a plausible one to see at Extreme Rules.
Randy Orton and Sheamus have had issues with Big Show for a few months now. After a mix-up at the end of their WrestleMania match against The Shield, their feud took off.
For some strange reason, Mark Henry has decided to focus on destroying Sheamus. Henry should be more involved with the WWE title situation between Cena and Ryback, though. Henry was victorious over Ryback at WrestleMania and a triple-threat match would have made more sense for Extreme Rules.
Nonetheless, this tag team match is one that occurred on SmackDown recently, but should happen again. Two huge tag teams could become regular partners and join the division following the match. Hardcore WWE fans know how much the company needs more tag teams.
Intercontinental Championship: Wade Barrett vs. the Miz

Wade Barrett and The Miz each have one win against another, proving that a tie-breaker at Extreme Rules needs to happen. After defeating Barrett for the Intercontinental title during the pre-show of WrestleMania 29, The Miz lost the belt to Barrett the next night on Raw.
Neither Superstar has been seen much since then, but this feud should not end so abruptly. Barrett is a future World Champion, as he is the total package. The Miz is a former WWE Champion who does a lot for the company outside of the ring.
That is why I was surprised to see The Miz lose the title so quickly. Whenever The Miz makes media appearances, he can have a title with him.
Having The Miz win the title back would also allow Wade Barrett to win a Money in the Bank briefcase this year. He was injured last year and was unable to participate at the July pay-per-view.
