Braves pitcher Paul Maholm only made one costly mistake Wednesday night, but against Jordan Zimmermann that was one too many. Washington's Ian Desmond hit a two-run homer in fourth inning, and Zimmermann pitched eight innings and allowed two hits in a 2-0 Nationals win at Turner Field, snapping the Braves' nine-game winning streak against their National League East rival. Zimmermann retired the last 17 batters he faced.
