I understand the backlash. Fans view the draft in terms of players, not picks. They aren't thrilled about trades involving the acquisition of draft choices – not until they can attach names and positions to them. So the Browns' back-to-back deals in which they parted with their fourth- and fifth-round picks during this year's draft, in exchange for third- and fourth-rounders in 2014, left many team loyalists feeling flat and/or downright furious.
