Results for the Philies minor league affiliates was mixed, with the teams even split between wins and losses in Friday night action.

The Lakewood BlueClaws fell to 0-2 with a 6-4 loss at home to the Lake County Captains. Michael Durant had a big game as the designated hitter, going 2-for-4 with a double, homerun, three runs batted in, and a run scored in the losing cause.

The Clearwater Threshers notched their first win of the season with a 4-2 victory over the Dunedin Blue Jays. Carlos Monasterios, who was one of the players acquired from the Yankees in the Bobby Abreu trade, got the win. Monasterios gave up two runs in six and one-third innings while walking one and striking out four.

The Reading Phillies defeated the Altoona Curve 2-1 at Blair County Ballpark on a chilly Friday night in western Pennsylvania. Javon Maron continued his hot start to the season, going 2-for-3 with a walk.

The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs are still looking for their first victory, as they lost to the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankees 2-1 in Scranton. Jason Jaramillo continued his slow start, by going 0-for 3 with two strikeouts. The catching prospect is still looking for his first hit, having gone 0-for-6 with three strikeouts in the season’s first two games.

The Phillies will make a roster move before Saturday’s game to activate RHP Brad Lidge, who started the season on the Disabled List. RHP Clay Condrey is thought to be the odd man out in the Phillies bullpen.

Pitching match-ups for the remainder of the Reds series are: RHP Adam Eaton facing RHP Aaron Harang (1-0) on Saturday afternoon, RHP Brett Myers battles RHP Edinson Volquez on Sunday, and LHP Cole Hamels (0-1) faces off against RHP Bronson Arroyo in the series finale on Monday.
