The St. Louis Rams, with the second selection overall, gave quarterback Marc Bulger help by drafting left tackle Jason Smith from Baylor.

Smith has long been held as the pick the Rams would go after if Andre Smith fell apart at the NFL combine.  There was a lot of rumors late in the week that the Rams were considering USC quarterback Mark Sanchez.

All of that seemed to be simply a smoke screen to draw some interest from a few other teams seeking a trade.

Smith is a starter this season.  Something that appears to have been important to the team.

It will be interesting to see where the team goes with their high second round pick.
