Joel Rosario rode Forty Tales to a thrilling victory at the Kentucky Derby Trial on Saturday at Churchill Downs.
This was the last Kentucky Derby prep race, and it proved to be another chance for trainer Todd Pletcher to showcase his insanely hot hand.
Not only is Forty Tales a Pletcher horse, but runner-up Capo Bastone is as well. Check out the payouts for the top three horses.

This Grade 3 stakes kicked off the spring meet at Churchill Downs, and it did so in wet conditions, as the rain began falling as the night progressed.
This race was also part of the Derby's wild-card series.
Forty Tales used a late surge to take the lead. He then had to hold off Capo Bastone as they closed to the finish line at the one-mile mark. Both horses looked strong down the stretch and ran a nice race.
With the win, Forty Tales captures 20 points for the Kentucky Derby leaderboard. However, this might not be the first step towards a Derby appearance.
The Times Union's Mark Singelais passed this along from Pletcher:
However, Pletcher isn't ruling it out, either. Churchill Downs PR offered this up:
Forty Tales showed a lot of poise and stamina on this night. It is no surprise that Pletcher might get the itch to place this horse in the Derby.
However, whatever he decides, I'm certainly not going to debate Pletcher's decisions at this point. He is nailing everything.
This result shouldn't surprise any of us. Not only is Pletcher on a hot streak, but so is jockey Rosario. Rosario had himself a night on this start to the spring meet at Churchill Downs.
Allkyhoops.com's Anthony Wireman tweeted out his impressive evening:
This was a great way to get in the Churchill Downs groove. Although, I'll certainly be hoping for a bit better weather for the greatest two minutes in sports.
