Brazilian star Ronaldinho has been ruled out for the rest of the 2007/2008 season.
It has been reported the Barcelona icon toar a muscle in his right leg while training with his teammates.
FC Barcelona issued a statement through its official website, www.fcbarcelona.com. It confirmed a scan had been taken of Ronaldinho's leg, and the result of which, meant he would not be fit enough to play for at least six weeks. This means he will miss the rest of the 2007/2008 campaign.
In has been a disappointing year for the former world player of the year, which has seen him make only 13 league starts. He still managed to score 8 goals in that time, his last being the spectacular overhead kick against Atlético Madrid.
This furthers adds to the already hightened speculation that Ronaldinho will depart from Camp Nou this coming summer, with suitors lining up to try tempt him from his current club. Manchester City, AC Milan and Chelsea are all rumored to be watching the situation very closely.

A damn shame! Despite his dip in form and his allegedly worsening attitude, he is still the best player in the world bar Cristiano Ronaldo and my favourite player.

Great shout Salomon...
For me his demise has been predicted to soon, as much for the media having a story as anything else although no smoke without fire, I still believe an in form Ronaldinho is with no exception the best and most enjoyable football player.
There are a lot of question marks however about his state of mind and health and rumours are rife, but I think all in football should have their fingers crossed that for the game he returns fully fit.
13 starts and 8 goals unfit and unfocused, however his goal against Atletico Madrid last month was like no other, there is no player from a neutral point of view that you take so much joy in watching play, he loves the game, even this year the smile existed.
Thanks for the comment Salomon...

Ronnie is a magician and a joy to watch. Whenever he is on the field
there is such anticipation of possibly seeing a once in a lifetime miracle
as only Ronaldinho can provide.

Feel bad for the guy. But rumors are he spent too much time out on the town in Barca.
