According to ProFootballTalk.com, Jeremi Johnson is going to be re-signed by the Bengals.
You had to figure there was a move coming when they released Kirk Barton for no apparent reason, but this is a bit of a surprise.
The guy was a very good fullback when healthy and in shape, but for two straight seasons he showed up at training camp over 300 pounds. Maybe a year out of the game helped him realize that making millions of dollars is more important than enjoying a second helping of spumoni.
If he has rededicated himself, there is no reason to doubt this move. I hope the best for the guy since he was a great player for a few seasons. It's probable the Bengals got him for a minimum veteran salary so why not let him try to make the team again?
