CORVALLIS -- After a miserable 2011 season that included lots of bad defense, the Beavers took a big step forward in 2012, ranking fourth in the Pac-12 in total defense, allowing just under 381 total yards per game. In 2011, they were seventh in total defense, the beginning of the end for the Beavers' bowl game streak.
