ESPN and Chris Berman have covered every NFL Draft since 1980

The National Football League, will present their annual college player draft over three days, beginning Thursday night, April 25, in New York at the iconic Radio City Music Hall. The opening night of the three days of coverage will start promptly at 8 p.m. ET and cover only Round 1.

Coverage will be extensive and will stretch over all platforms of the media as the demand for all things NFL remains very high. Television, radio, broadband and websites are getting geared up for the three-day event.

That includes Bleacher Report where we will have extensive coverage.

A brief history lesion, the NFL began the draft in 1936 and it was covered through the years by mainly newspapers. In 1979 ESPN as part of their SportsCenter show began their coverage of the NFL Draft.

In 1980 ESPN became the first network to televise the NFL draft live, and it should get the credit for making it the event that it is today—a three-day extravaganza celebrating college players from all over the United States hopefully becoming members of NFL rosters.
