USC Football: Traitorous Toddler Sidelines Damian Williams

Kyle BunchSenior Analyst IApril 3, 2008

Now, I like children as much as the next guy. They're the future of our country and so on and so forth.

But I also like wide receivers, especially those who I consider future of the USC Trojan football team.

It all went down during last Sunday's open practice. During a scrimmage, Aaron Corp threw a nice pass to Damian Williams at the sidelines. The crowd cheered and cleared out of Wlliams' way as he careened out of bounds, all except for one.

One child held his ground, right in Williams path. Rather than take the little kid out, Williams jerked, slipped and crashed into a wooden fence.

When he got back up, Damian Williams was wincing in pain. Now the man that, as Sarkisian put it, "really showed up" at receiver, is showing up to practice in a really big black boot. Williams may be out for the remainder of the spring.

And the kid? I heard from a friend of a friend that the kid was picked up after the practice unscathed. But my friend swore to me when that sedan door opened and that little kid climbed inside, the guy behind the wheel had a huge grin on his face and looked a lot like Jim Tressel.

Where can I comment?
