Minnesota Twins Box Score Notes

-In four games the Twins offense has scored just eight runs. Averaging two runs per game simply isn’t going to continue—the Twins will regress to the mean, which is a good thing, but it still shows a clear weakness for this team.

-Kevin Slowey left the game with what is being called a strained bicep; he’s listed as day-to-day. Slowey’s next scheduled start is actually an off day so it shouldn’t be a problem, giving him some extra time to recover.

-Justing Morneau has yet to get his first hit. He did pick up an RBI, so his stats aren’t a completely blank slate. Carlos Gomez and Delmon Young are both looking pretty good with Joe Mauer also doing his normal “successful guy” routine. Where’s everyone else?

-Pitching is still this team’s strong suit and despite some problems in the form of Juan Rincon and Brian Bass, I’d still take the Twins bullpen over anyone else’s in the majors.

-Twins lose 5-4, go 1-3 in opening series against Angels.
