Men's Basketball Signs Jamel Artis to a National Letter of Intent

PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh basketball program signed Jamel Artis (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep, Mass.)—to a National Letter of Intent, head coach Jamie Dixon announced on Friday. Artis joins fall signees Josh Newkirk (Raleigh, N.C./Word of God Christian Academy) and Michael Young (McKeesport, Pa./St. Benedict's Prep, N.J.) as Pitt's three-member signing class of 2013. The NCAA Division I spring men's basketball signing period began Wednesday, April 17 and concludes on Wednesday, April 24.
