The Thursday, April 18 edition of TNA Impact! Wrestling began with a special message, offering their prayers to the unfortunate events that took place in Boston, MA and a video package recapping last week's show.

Impact! Wrestling, which was taped from Corpus Christi, TX, opened with Devon, Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco of Aces and Eights backstage discussing their match against Kurt Angle, which took place immediately afterwards.

Match No. 1: Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco vs. Kurt Angle.

Your winners via pinfall: Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco.

Bischoff and Brisco scored the victory thanks to interference towards the end of the match from members of Aces and Eights. Despite the interference, this was a good opening match, as TNA continues to draw more power to Aces and Eights.

Match Rating: 3/5.

Match No. 2: Zema Ion vs. Petey Williams vs. Kenny King for the X-Division Championship.

Your winner to retain the X-Division title: Kenny King.

TNA debuted the “X-Cam,” which was essentially a camera placed on the head of the referee. The camera shots provided a new look into the action. Thankfully, it stood still for most of the time. Decent X-Division match, although the three-way battle did drag out longer and featured just a few impressive maneuvers.

Match Rating: 2.5/5.

Brooke Hogan and Christy Hemme were backstage discussing the new TNA Knockouts website. Miss Tessmacher and Mickie James also made an appearance, as Hogan wished them luck in their upcoming match on Impact! Wrestling.

As Devon was entering the ring for his match, Magnus came out to the entrance way and was attacked by Mike Knux and Doc of Aces and Eights. Samoa Joe arrived to make the save and fend off Aces and Eights.

Match No. 3: Miss Tessmacher vs. Mickie James.

Your winner via pinfall: Mickie James.

Although the match had nothing spectacular to cover, James' victory puts her right back in the Knockouts title picture. Other than that, it was a pretty slow match.

Match Rating: 2.5/5.

Christopher Daniels and Kazarian of Bad Influence came out to the ring. Daniels began to talk energetically about AJ Styles joining the two-member group. Kazarian expressed their desire to face Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez to capture the TNA Tag Team titles.

However, Bobby Roode and Austin Aries interrupted. Roode told Daniels and Kazarian they will not be the No. 1 contenders for the Tag Team belts. After a shouting match in the ring, Guerrero and Hernandez attacked Roode and Aries.

Match No. 4: Devon vs. Samoa Joe for the TV Championship.

Your winner to retain the TV title: Devon.

Yet another interference by Aces and Eights to land the victory. Despite TNA's best efforts to grow Aces and Eights into a powerhouse group, it can be almost expected that the heel faction will interfere in most matches. More clean finishes would be ideal, but don't expect that anytime soon.

Match Rating: 3/5.

Match No. 5: James Storm vs. AJ Styles.

Your winner via submission: AJ Styles.

Styles showed absolutely no ring rust after being off TNA television and even scored the victory with a new submission lock. Good main event that saw a clean finish.

Match Rating: 3.5/5.

After the match, members of Aces and Eights attacked Storm, Daniels and Kazarian in the middle of the ring. Bully Ray, who is the President of Aces and Eights, praised the group on their actions, blamed Hulk Hogan and announced that he would call him out next week on Impact! Wrestling.
