Former Rebel guard Malcom White transfers to LSU

SECLiveNews.comContributor IOctober 25, 2016

When Malcolm White left the Ole Miss basketball team to be closer to home, he sure wasn't kidding. It is being reported today that White, from Baton Rouge, has signed on to play at LSU.

LSU Coach Trent Johnson has received the signed transfer papers. By NCAA rules, White must sit out one season before becoming eligible to play, though he will be allowed to practice with the team next season.

White played the past two seasons at Ole Miss. Last year he started 27 games and averaged 7.2 points and 5.7 rebounds while playing 24 minutes per game. His 43 blocked shots were the 10th most by an Ole Miss player.

He will have two years of eligibility left beginning with the 2010-2011 season.
