On Monday night, Brock Lesnar laid out a challenge via Paul Heyman to "The Cerebral Assassin." The challenge was a rematch with both men locked inside a steel cage.
Keep in mind, Triple H suffered an injury to his arm during his match against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 29. The injury appeared to be minor as reports suggested it was a muscle contusion.
Now, here we are a little over a week since 'Mania and it appears "The Game's" arm is still in a bad way.
According to WWE.com:
Tuesday afternoon, WWE.com's Social Media Team received a photo from Triple H, revealing that The Game had an MRI taken of his injured left arm.
WWE sources have told WWE.com that doctors ruled out a scaphoid fracture, an injury that would have sidelined The King of Kings for at least two months. Instead, it’s been determined that Triple H has suffered a carpal sprain and contusion to his left wrist.
According to HealthTap.com, it takes about six weeks for this type of injury to heal, which is roughly the same amount of time that the company has until Extreme Rules. To me, this basically means that this match should go off without a hitch.
That being said, I am certain that the company will be following Triple H's journey toward healing and do its best to build up the impending rubber match.
However, if he is unable to come through, the WWE may have to plan on a new main event. As WrestlingInc.com has noted, the Lesnar-Triple H match is supposed to headline the pay-per-view. Overall, I can't imagine that this match won't happen as the company needs to have some solid matches to make up for WrestleMania's lackluster card.
Personally, I would really like to see Stephanie McMahon be involved in this match. Especially considering the fact that she has been off WWE TV for quite some time and her return would most likely be well-received.
In the end, we will have to wait and see where this goes as the WWE and Triple H may have something big up their sleeves and could easily through fans a curve ball.
