MLB: "O" Dear Washington

Brian RhodesSenior Analyst IApril 22, 2009

The Washington Nationals and jersey manufacturers Majestic both had egg on their faces.

For three innings of the Nationals' 3-2 loss to the Florida Marlins, Adam Dunn and Ryan Zimmerman wore defective jerseys.

The Jerseys supplied by Majestic had the letter "O" missing from the team's nameit spelled the "Natinals'"rather than the customary "Nationals".

Majestic Athletic president Jim Pisani said in a statement about the glaring mistake, “All of us at Majestic Athletic want to apologize to both the Washington Nationals and Major League Baseball for accidentally omitting the ‘O’ in two Nationals jerseys.”

“We take 100 percent responsibility for this event and we regret any embarrassment for the Nationals organization, players and fans."
