St. Louis – The St. Louis Cardinals were willing to part with veteran right-hander Kyle Lohse through free agency after the 2012 season because they had young pitchers such as Shelby Miller on the horizon. Miller out-pitched Lohse by allowing just one hit over seven innings as the Cardinals took a 2-0 victory to saddle the Brewers with their seventh loss in nine games this season.
