When Deron Williams and Joe Johnson declared before the season the Nets will win 50 games, the widespread reaction consisted of disbelief and a little eye-rolling. Any faith dwindled when Brooklyn bombed in December and fired its coach. But here are the Nets at the end of a roller coaster season, three wins away from 50 with the fourth-seed in the Eastern Conference secure because of a gut-check, physical 117-109 victory Friday over the Pacers. And here is Williams, joining Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and LeBron James as the best players since the All-Star break.
