NEW YORK — The elements weren't kind to the Orioles or Yankees on Friday night. Playing through a bone-chilling Bronx cold not fit for mid-April was a challenge for both teams, and only the bravest fans filled the seats of a less than half-full Yankee Stadium. But it was the mental mistakes that cost the Orioles in a 5-2 loss, the most critical one coming when Gold Glove center fielder Adam Jones dropped a two-out fly ball, allowing three runs to score and break a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning.
