It's a day that no NFL player will soon forget—the day when all the training, hits, bruises, broken bones and early workouts pay off.

We're less than two weeks from the draft, and instead of looking ahead as usual, we look back with some of the NFL greats on the biggest day of their professional careers.

Each player has a different experience that day, and as the draft evolves, so do the memories. For example, Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath was told he was drafted because the event was not broadcast as it is today. Meanwhile, more recent players track their draft stock via multiple broadcasts and social media.
