John Danks really can't consider himself an ace on a staff that has two viable candidates worthy of that distinction. But on Thursday afternoon, he did his best to enter the discussion of staff ace.

Danks did not allow an Indian hit until the sixth inning, and seemed dominant throughout his 6.2 innings pitched. The few miscues along the way resulted in only one run allowed.  Following sub-par performances by fellow starters Mark Buehrle and Javier Vasquez, Danks cooled the hot-hitting Cleveland bats en route to the first White Sox win of the season.

The two runs the White Sox scored were via the solo homerun: one by Juan Uribe in the sixth, and the game-winner by Joe Crede in the eighth.

Bobby Jenks pitched a perfect ninth to record his first save, after Scott Linebrink and Octavio Dotel held the Indians in check following Dank's departure.

The first win of the season couldn't have come any better. After a slug fest in the first game, a blowout in the second, the White Sox won a nail-biter with pitching in the third game, avoiding an opening series sweep at the hands of the Indians.
