In a Flyers broadcast earlier this week, a graphic came across the screen to explain just how badly the team has been devastated by injuries—more specifically, their defense.

The long-term loss of veteran defenseman Chris Pronger, along with the likes of leader Kimmo Timonen and Nick Grossman has meant a lot more pucks in the back of the Flyers' nets and flickering playoff hopes.

Philadelphia is not the only team to suffer such a fate this season, as numerous clubs are licking their wounds heading into the playoffs—most notably, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
