2013-14 College Basketball Preview: Early Top 100 Players for Next Season

1 of 13

For college basketball enthusiasts, the beginning of the offseason is a dark period.

Naturally, our instincts tell us to disregard the rest of the sports world and begin speculating on what may be in store for next season.

After the annual unveiling of the very popular "Way Too Early Preseason Top 25," I figured it would only be fair to glorify the players just as much as we do the teams.

I was planning on waiting until we officially know who is returning to school to reveal my list, but to keep in the spirit of ultimate speculation, here goes my ridiculously early rundown of which 100 (plus 20) players have star potential next season.

Players Presumably Headed to the NBA

2 of 13

These are the players, who, while compiling my rankings, were excluded because of the expectation that they will not be returning to school. This does not include players who have already declared for the NBA Draft:

    Isaiah Austin, C, Baylor

    Trey Burke, PG, Michigan

    Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, SG, Georgia

    Gorgui Dieng, C, Louisville

    Tim Hardaway Jr., SG, Michigan

    Cory Jefferson, PF, Baylor

    Myck Kabongo, PG, Texas

    Alex Len, C, Maryland

James Michael McAdoo, PF, North Carolina

    Ray McCallum, PG, Detroit

    Doug McDermott, SF, Creighton

    Shabazz Muhammad, SF, UCLA

    Nerlens Noel, C, Kentucky

    Kelly Olynyk, C, Gonzaga

    Adreian Payne, PF, Michigan State

    Otto Porter, SF, Georgetown

    Glenn Robinson III, SF, Michigan

    Marcus Smart, PG, Oklahoma State
