WWE Tag Team Bracketology Finals: Which Team Is the Greatest of All Time?

1 of 11

What is the greatest tag team to ever step inside the squared circle?

The second installment of my WWE bracketology series is going to attempt to answer that question. Over the next couple of weeks, we will take 32 of the greatest tag teams and work our way down to one.

In the final part of this series, you will have the opportunity to vote on the Final matchup. There will also be a recap of all the previous action as well as a sneak peek at the third installment of the series.

    Let's get to the voting!

Criteria and Voting

2 of 11

    Criteria

The method to come up with these 36 teams was no easy feat. In fact, there were a few times where I wanted to blow the whole thing up and go with 68 teams instead.

However, I fought that urge and have come up with 36 teams that represent a little bit of everything.

To fill out this bracket, I looked through the extensive history of former tag team champions.

I also considered two previously published Bleacher Report lists, a WWE.com ranking, two other online lists and readers' comments.

I know that I will never satisfy everyone. If you feel a team was snubbed, please be sure to take advantage of the reader's choice option.

    Voting

When you vote, please keep the following ideas in mind.

    • Great matches/moments
    • Success as a team
    • Impact on the business/division
    • Chemistry
    • In-ring performance/wrestling ability
    • Gimmick
    • Ring psychology/storytelling
    • Longevity

Voting will take place over the span of the next couple of weeks.

The play-in round will be voted on first, followed by the opening rounds in each region.

I will allow 24-48 hours between each round of voting.

In order to vote, you will need to comment on the article with your selections for each round or tweet it to me.

No. 1 Edge and Christian vs. No. 2 Dudley Boys

Edge and Christian are seven-time WWE tag team champions. They won Match of the Year honors in 2000 and 2001 from Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

In 2000, Pro Wrestling Illustrated named them Tag Team of the Year.

Edge is currently a member of the WWE Hall of Fame.

The Dudley Boys consist of Bubba Ray and D-Von. They might be one of the most accomplished tag teams ever.

They have held WWE, WCW, ECW, NWA and TNA tag titles a combined 22 times.

They were named Tag Team of the Year in 2001, 2005 and 2009. Pro Wrestling Illustrated named them Tag Team of the Decade (2000 to 2009).

Looking Ahead

10 of 11

The next installment of this series is going to attempt to name the greatest entrance song of all time.

With that in mind, I would love the feedback of the readers.

Feel free to suggest themes that you feel should be in the bracket. Feel free to take it one step further and attempt to rank them. Lastly, feel free to suggest voting criteria and how you want to see the regions broken down. Maybe you want all the current themes in one region and the older themes in another.

    Everyone's opinion counts.

The winner of the Tag Team bracket will be announced in the first part of the entrance song series.

Conclusion

11 of 11

Did Edge and Christian and the Dudley's deserve to make it to the finals?

Are you looking forward to the next installment of the series?
