Whatever Happened Of Alexander Hleb
Considered one of the most important players in Arsenal's '07-'08 lineup. Does not even start for the second biggest team in Spain (I am a Real fan so I can't say the biggest because I hate Barcelona) and often does not even make the bench.
When Hleb left Arsenal to join FC Barcelona for a fee of £11.8 million last summer, many expected him to be a great buy for the Catalan giants. As it has turned out, he has made five full appearances and 10 substitute appearances in the league.
When Hleb left Arsenal he said: " I joined Barcelona to win some trophies." His real motive for joining Barcelona was the money just like Mathieu Fla"money," but I have nothing against Flamini as he said: "I want money, if you can't pay me I am leaving."
At least Flamini was honest. Hleb wasn't. In May Hleb said that the reports of him leaving the Emirates were "nonsense" and he "loved" the club.
Now Arsenal are doing so very well without Hleb, having replaced him with a good young player in Samir Nasri. It is Hleb that is suffering after leaving Arsenal and not the other way around, like many pundits predicted.
There are reports that Bayern Munich are interested in him (possibility of a Ribery move this summer) and he has said he is "honoured" and would accept a move to the German capital this summer if the opportunity arose.
Alexander, I have only this to say to you; don't lose hope, you are not the only one whose career's worst move was Barcelona. Remember Ricardo Quaresma!?
