White Hart Lane—London, England

Tottenham 2-2 Everton

A lively encounter at White Hart Lane ended 2-2 as Spurs and Everton share the spoils.

Tottenham went ahead inside the first minute after Jan Vertonghen's cross was poked home by Emmanuel Adebayor, but Phil Jagielka leveled matters 15 minutes later with a good downward header from a corner.

After the break Kevin Mirallas fired in a scintillating effort that saw him beat two players and finish from an angle, but Gylfi Sigurdsson's late equaliser from close-range ensured both teams go home with something.

On reflection, a draw is the more damaging for the Toffees.
