The referee calls time on a hugely, incredibly, improbably frustrating afternoon for the home team at Anfield. Sam Allardyce's team came with no intention to seek a victory, and have left with the draw they wanted. For Liverpool, despite all the possession and half-chances created, they will be massively disappointed to have not fashioned the single chance they needed to win the game.

Liverpool 0 West Ham United 0
90+4'—Coutinho is tackled by Taylor and that might be it for Liverpool's chances. Diame has the ball by the corner flag.
90+4'—Into the last 60 seconds. Final chance for Liverpool? Gerrard trying to direct the play and get the ball forward.
90+2'—Jose Enrique to Gerrard, then to Suarez, he shoots...and saved! Jaaskelainen with his feet again. Corner to Liverpool, which yet again is overhit and drifts aimlessly for a goal kick.
90'—Five minutes for Liverpool to find a much-deserved winner here. The crowd respond in kind and cheer the team on, but they're just not getting the ball right in key areas. Coutinho drifts past two challenges and back-heels to Johnson—but instead of crossing or shooting he inexplicably hesitates and then loses the ball. Frustration abound.
Five minutes added on
88'—Last two minutes. Still Liverpool searching for the goal to seal the win. Assaidi finds space down the right but his cross is cleared.
85'—WHAT A SAVE! The corner is headed in by Demel and it takes a combination of Reina and Lucas on the line to stop the ball going in... Liverpool break and Assaidi drills in a shot but it flies wide. Pace and movement key for Liverpool in these closing stages.
Lucas it was who knee'd that ball off the line. Great stop.
84'—Some thoroughly ridiculous time wasting going on and the referee books O'Brien for it. Demel doing the same on the other side as often as he can. Glen Johnson tries to play a back header to Reina but it rolls behind for a corner to the Hammers.
83'—SO CLOSE! Agger drills in a strike from range and it is touched an inch past the post. Liverpool so close to opening the score.
West Ham sub: Tomkins off, Pogatetz on.
82'—On we go again. Final stages of the game. West Ham have everyone within about 30 metres of their own penalty area.
80'—Into the final 10 minutes of the match. This is sticking as the most one-sided 0-0 result of the season at present. Can either side find a winner in the closing stages of the game? Tomkins is down and getting treatment inside his penalty area at the moment.
77'—Johnson into the feet of Sturridge and finally he cracks a shot at goal and on target, but Jaaskelainen gets down to smother the effort.
75'—Liverpool pushing so many forward that they are leaving spaces at the back now. West Ham launch an attack, their first in about five hours it feels like, but Carragher and Agger get a block in between them. Reina takes a high cross very confidently. Back come Liverpool again.
73'—Gerrard's turn for a shot, first-time from a Suarez lay-off. It flies over the bar into the Kop. Liverpool have done everything but score here. Jaaskelainen just not being asked to make any saves, everything is going off target or not quite resulting in a clear shot.
73'—Suarez goes 4-0 up in the nutmeg files. Another victim falls before he releases Sturridge to run in at goal, but the striker doesn't take a touch and loses possession.
72'—Liverpool are just a yard too short or too long in all their final balls. Coutinho tries to free Suarez, it's cut out, then Gerrard does the same for Johnson—but it rolls out of play, just too far ahead.
69'—Gerrard clearly taken down in the box—but no penalty. Fair play, this time the ref is right. Tomkins got the slightest, deflecting touch on the ball and only a corner is given. Liverpool again don't make good use of the set piece.
Liverpool sub: Henderson off, Assaidi on. That will see Coutinho float centrally, with Assaidi on the left now.
67'—Sturridge makes a run and feeds Suarez, but he attempts a backflick which is going nowhere. The crowd aren't impressed. Coutinho picks it up, drives at goal and shoots for the far post, but it's deflected wide. Might be about his last contribution to the game.
65'—Sturridge has the ball in the net—but he's offside. Henderson's shot is deflected across to him on the edge of the six yard box, but the striker is a shade ahead of the last defender and is flagged. No goal, still 0-0.
65'—We've got 25 minutes left of this match and it remains Liverpool 0-0 West Ham. What does Brendan Rodgers need to be thinking about to get a win here? Suso, Shelvey and Assaidi are attacking options on the bench.
63'—PENALTY SHOUT! Tomkins goes down in the box, kicked by Jose Enrique, and again the referee ignores it entirely. He's had a mare, considering he's had barely anything to do for most of the game. Two clear penalties arguably missed.
West Ham sub: Vaz Te off, Jack Collison on. Barely seen Vaz Te today.
