Is Mario Manningham the best Wide Reciver in the NFL Draft?

I think so.

Sure, Limas Sweed is great, but Mannigham, despite his slow 40 time, looks good as well.

Take a look at these videos:

In all of those videos he seems to just beat every person he lines up against. It doesn't matter how fast you run on a field without pads. It matters how fast you run on the field with pads on, real routes, up against real people, and with the desire to score a touchdown.

In only 2 3/4 seasons played (considering he is leaving as a junior and missed a couple games) he had 137 receptions, 2310 yards, and 27 touchdown catches.

Limas Sweed, who played 4 whole years, had 124 receptions, (13 less than Manningham) 1915 yards, (395 less than Manningham) and 20 touchdown catches (7 less than Manningham).

There is my point. All those videos, those stats for as long as he played, the comparison to Limas Sweed. My reasons why Manningham is the best WR in the NFL Draft.

  1. he is the best WR is the NFL Draft

  2. lol, what is this? it's like an instant messenger conversation with yourself. You don't just post videos here. And if you do, explain each one in depth.

  3. u dont just post videos???? WELL I JUST DID..and there goin to know there Manningham videos....cause the subject if u know how to read...is about Mario Manningham

  4. Drake, it's nice to see Mannigham perform like this in college, but he won't perform the same way in the pros. Expect him to be picked before recievers such as Devin Thomas, Limas Sweed, and Desean Jackson. Although Mannigham is a quick, smooth, intelligent route runner, he has trouble getting off of a good physical jam, and tends to shy away from physical contact on the field. Thomas and Sweed are both quite physical recievers, and Jackson offers even more benefit as a productive return man.

Nevertheless, the NFL Draft is very unpredictable, and the WR draft order could change. Unlike last year, were there was a clear cut #1 WR in Johnson, and a clear cut #2 in Ginn Jr., the WR in the '08 draft are a bit more even. Some analysts are even questioning whether it is worth drafting WR int he first round.

  5. Dave, you are right that Manningham isnt a very physical WR and tht Jackon is a very good return man BUT he is quicker (on the field) he is very smooth, great hands, and is a good route runner like you said....now what im saying by this article is not that he is going to be picked the first out of the WRs but the he SHOULD get picked first out of the wide revicers

  6. I actually do believe that Manningham is the best WR in the draft. Granted, this season is definitely one of the weakest WR drafts I've seen in a while though.

Though he may not be the best WR coming out of the draft and may not make as big of headlines as Desean Jackson in his first year in the pro's, I think Manningham undoubtedly has the most potential out of any in this draft as a "pure wide receiver". I see Jackson more as a Devin Hester-like type of player, being more known for his special teams.

But hey, only time will tell.

  7. OH GOSH HERE YOU ARE AGAIN...YEAH I TELL WHY BY HIS STATS COMPARED TO LIMAS SWEED WHO PLAYED 4 WHOLE YEARS....AND MARIO NOT PlAYING 4 YEARS.....AND THOSE VIDEOS ARE ME SHOWING YOU JUST HOW QUICK HE IS AND HOW IT DOESNT MATTER HOW YOU ARE RUNNING WITH A SPEED-O WITH NO PADS ON
